Today I talked with Ms. love several times throughout the day. mostly leaving voicemail to obtain information and to get funds as my power of attorney allows me to do. She was evasive when i got her on the line as in being really short and delayed with her answers (formulating a response and not really listening to anthing i had to say). She refused again to give me the name of her institutions legal department. While still stating that that mom didn't want to talk about money and wouldn't initiate a phone conversation with us three on the line if she didn't feel comfortable talkng about it. Mom wants me to come see her and knows that times are tough. You can see some of the letters that I sent previously, mom wanted to give me control of her assets. Like we agreed that I would do if something like this happened. Kathy acknowledges that she has the PoA instrument but that she got it from mom. I have the fax confirmation that states otherwise. I sent it and it was from me but they can't find it for some reason.
I told her that I was being civil and willing to keep this quiet at that point. She still says that it's someone on staff is their legal department and she had to (again) get back with me on the name of that person. I asked her for the name so i could contact them directly. Apparently from what mom is telling me in her letters and on the phone is that she was told to "sign some papers". Mom said that she really didn't know what she was signing after being in someones office "for a really long time" and that she was tired so she signed it. Kathy told me again today it was a release for records.
So I asked if she (kathy) was a decision maker. she said that Don Henke was the person that i needed to talk to (again). So I called him today and he basically stated in a coarse manner that someone would call me “like he said”. He meant to say that he told kathy to tell me someone would call. He then said that he was hanging up and said "goodbye" then hung up.
Talking to mom everyday is difficult due to the intense painkillers she's on (oxycotton) which makes her delusional and off base. It was only this weekend that I couldn't call due to phone issues and ended up needing to acquire another phone. I called her back monday and kept writing to her to let her know that everything is fine. I send her pictures and other reminders of what is going on.
